Here We Go

September 2022

In 2019 I was injured and compacted 4 vertebrae in my neck and broke two. I will post the X-Rays and 6 vertebrae in my lower spine. My L1 was completely obliterated and is gone now. I was 5' 10" tall and 295 pounds. I ballooned up over 320 pounds sitting in my chair consuming SUGAR. I am a little over 5' 7" tall now and 170 pounds. My spine collapsed about 3 inches. My T12 fused the T11 and L2 to it to engulf the little piece of L1 still there. My discs are pretty bad. I got an osteomyelitis infection in my L1 in the hospital. That was awesome. I had a PICC line in for months because they pulled it too soon the first time and the nasty little infection came back and saw it's shadow so I got 6 more weeks of self administered IVs. Yowza.  I have A-Fib also. Only two of my heart valves work. They did a Cardioversion where they stopped my heart and restarted it but it didn't last more than two weeks. They were going to do an Ablation but because of the infection they said I had to wait at least a year. I had super high blood pressure. On one occasion I was 220/160 in an ambulance. I have pretty severe arthritis in my shoulders hips and knees and neither has an ACL. Every part of me ached constantly. All of my joints. I am telling you this because with all this I started losing weight sitting in a chair. EVERYONE can do this. There are no excuses except denial. If I gave you a card please contact me and I will help you to transform your life. I only give them to people I really see struggling usually. I'm not charging anything. Maybe I will sell stickers or shirts or something later but right now I want to see people get healthy. I was an athlete when I was young into my late twenties. I was heavy for 30 years. I just turned 60 in August of 2022 and I am at my competitive weight again now. I can breath.  I can walk. OMG what a difference. I had a CDL and I ran out of breath climbing into the cab of the truck. I would have to sit and rest. Try to carry three 50 pound bags of fertilizer up a ladder and you will understand. That's it for now.

Update: On 10-21-2022 My Chiropractor measured my height at 5' 6.5". I had 3.5 inches of collapse. If I keep going I can be a Garden Gnome!!! 

Update: 2-3-2023 I was asked recently about my motivation by a dude that I pass regularly when I am doing my version of cardio. That's actually funny if you have a heart condition. Anyway I am usually in my own little world and gave a canned response because I was focused on something and really didn't want to deal with it right then. I have thought about it since and I really can't tell anyone why I do anything. I love my life. I feel great all the time. I feel better than I have in 30+ years. I don't need anything. I don't want anything. I do things that make me feel good because I can. Bodies in motion tend to stay in motion. Bodies at rest tend to stay at rest.
